Jill Kelly was the featured speaker.
Joy Through the Mourning was our first bereavement conference. Thanks to all who volunteered and helped make it possible. It is our sincere desire that all who attended were ministered to and received assistance in the grieving process.

If you would like to share a story of how you were blessed through the conference, or have any comments or ideas for future conferences, please contact us and let us know!

Schedule

The conference featured a packed schedule of live music, slideshows, testimonies, and featured speaker Jill Kelly. Attendees were able to:

  • Meet Pam and Dan Waterman, founders of Benjamin Ministries.
  • Hear how the tragic loss of their infant son, Benjamin, led them on a journey of recovery from the loss of a child and the desire to help fill a terrific void in the form of bereavement support to the community.
  • Learn how the ministry has journeyed across Rochester, the USA and around the world with the outreach of its bereavement packages as a gift of the ministry.
  • Hear the vision of Benjamin Ministries as it seeks to broaden its outreach with the establishment of future bereavement conferences, respite conferences, and support groups.
  • Meet Pastor Tom and Char Hauser of Open Door Baptist Church and how God gave them the comfort and strength to continue their ministry of pastoring while enduring the many challenges that couples face when experiencing the loss of a child. Soak in the wisdom of Pastor Tom as he brings a message that will offer insight and reflection to lend in the healing of a broken heart.
  • Listen to our featured speaker Jill Kelly, wife of Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, share her personal journey of the loss of their one and only son Hunter and how Hunter’s Hope is establishing new avenues for help and support to families who face the many challenges of Krabbes disease and other Leukodystrophies.
  • Enjoy special music, testimonies of those who have experienced the loss of a loved one, and join us in our first In Memoriam ceremony as we pay tribute to our personal loved ones or friends that have brought us to this bereavement conference.
  • Refreshments and lunch were provided.

Location

The conference took place at Open Door Baptist Church located in Churchville, NY.
